• Amazon wants the new Federal Trade Commission chair to recuse herself from Amazon antitrust matters — Here’s the company’s argument against Lina Khan, as reported by the Wall Street Journal: “Given her long track record of detailed pronouncements about Amazon, and her repeated proclamations that Amazon has violated the antitrust laws, a reasonable observer would conclude that she no longer can consider the company’s antitrust defenses with an open mind.”
• In the US House, antitrust bills are on the move — “Six bills that could reshape the power of the tech industry passed an important hurdle in the House,” The New York Times reports. “But the outcomes of the votes, and the debates before they took place, also showed divisions among lawmakers — and underscored why final passage of the package is expected to be difficult.”
• A Washington State Senator wore a yellow Star of David as some sort of COVID vaccine protest — He later apologized. But the incident has striking similarities to a California event described recently in a Washington Post piece that explored real-world manifestations of online disinformation in the post-Trump era.
• A federal judge ruled that Florida’s political deplatforming prohibition violates the First Amendment, prompting this worth-your-time praise thread from a law professor:
